ZoSify the Forums!

Postby Elder » Mon Feb 16, 2015 8:41 pm

Please feel free to change your Forum Theme in the User Control Panel (under board preferences) to ZoS_Light to see the new theme.

I'm asking for feedback in order to make it the best possible with the guild's help before it becomes the default theme.

This is me offering suggestions

Match the green to the Twitter feed or a darker shade of it and change the name of our site from Arial to something else.

The green names from the people who posted last are hard to see. For example, Godd and Lemi's are fine but mine and Garmannis are not.

For some of the grey background areas there should be more contrast. For reference: http://webaim.org/resources/contrastchecker/

I'd suggest making the top banner smaller (maybe half to two-thirds of the current size).

Noted. Thanks Cyan! I'll toss an update screenshot in the first post after I make the change tonight.

I agree, the height we have at the moment of about 62px is about right, any larger and I would probably end up adblocking it as I would find it too intrusive, otherwise I like that we are using the style from the TS banner :)

Updated the screenshot. The banner is now 125 pixels high. It was previously 200. I don't really want to to go too much thinner, but if the general consensus says do it, I shall do so!

I think 125 is fine, as long as it isn't one of the banners that scrolls with the page. Those are always some pretty annoying banners.

Looks good to me. If we wanted to save more vertical space we could try integrating the User Control Panel bar into the top right of the banner.

Moved the User Control Panel into the banner. And no, the banner does not scroll with the page.

It is. I'm bummed about that too. I will see if I can find a way to put a new one in. Anything else that you can think of will help get a beta test of this out soon!
