Forum Lag Issues?

Postby Pae » Tue Aug 07, 2007 7:17 pm

I've had problems with phpBB forums before, so I'm not sure if it was my end or not. Earlier, I was trying to take a look at the forums, but it was lagging so severely that nothing was loading for several minutes. I suppose that it could be the host as well.

yeah, this is a problem the site has had all day. It is not normally laggy. Must be a MySQL server that needs to be rebooted.

*hint* *hint*
PostgreSQL...
*cough* *cough*

Now, the massive work to convert a phpBB forum to PostgreSQL is indeed some work. And since we only has one bissy admin and a refusal to add more, I dubt it will ever be a change to PostgreSQL (even if it is much less buggy, and does not lag like manny mysql severs do). owell, hope the lag will disapere by itself :).

It's been fine lately, just that it was absurdly bad when I had first posted this thread.

The problem is fixed. It was a looping .php script.
